The Simplest Meditation Tip to Lose Weight

Hi everyone!

I think any form of meditation is a fantastic idea to help us lose weight.

Why?

  • Meditation gives our body time to relax. (I think Candle by  Sandy Bröcking_Think Smart & Lose Weightwe all know how stress can increase our appetite, don’t we?).
  • Meditation releases “happy hormones” which are great for our body, for healing … and they are well known for making us eat less. Plus they usually make us eat healthier food rather than stuffing ourselves with the all to common “unhappy junk food”.
  • During the process of your meditation you usually don’t (or should not) eat. (That gives us at least some time without food). Therefore, the more we meditate, the less we eat.

I’m certainly not a specialist in meditation but I Sunset Beach Pool by  Sandy Bröcking_Think Smart & Lose Weightknow that for most people it is difficult to find the time to do professional meditation.

But does it always have to be professional?

I always belief that a good start is: Doing “something”!

For me meditation can come in many different ways:

  • Starting by taking a few minutes sitting in the garden or a park and listening to the birds or watching the trees be blown in the wind.Long Beach by  Sandy Bröcking_Think Smart & Lose Weight
  • With taking a few minutes consciously soaking up the warmth of sun.
  • With a walk in the forest and consciously breathing in the fresh air.
  • A walk on the beach or on soft grass and feeling the sand or grass under my feed.
  • Taking few minutes to stop and say “Thank You” for the beautiful things around me.

Saying ‘Thank you’ for all the wonderful things …

Treat Yourself with a Healthy Energy Juice

Hi everyone!

Have you ever tried fresh made juices at home?

For this simple and delicious drink all you need is:

  • A Juice Machine and …Kale and Orange juice by  Sandy Bröcking_Think Smart & Lose Weight

For two glasses:

  • 2 Oranges
  • ½ Bunch kale
  • 5-6 Carrots

Wash the veggies and peel the oranges.

Run it all through the juicer.

Mix well and serve chilled.

Important is: Don’t use too many fruits high in sugar but mix them with a whole lot of green stuff instead.

Try it out! It looks great, tastes great, is low in calories, gives you plenty of antioxidants and is much healthier than a cocktail or soft drink.

Be Smart and Lose Weight with “Care”!

Hello everyone,

Today comes a little story that happened to me on my way to my appointment.

… Walking along the busy walkway, I noticed a little puppy that approached every person it met. Like everyone else, I first thought it was someoneLost Puppy by Sandy Bröcking / Think Smart and Lose Weight else’s dog but when observing the situation for another minute or two, I found that the puppy did not belong to anybody nearby. Sadly I also noticed that most people were not interested in that fact.

I spent 1 ½ hours walking the puppy up and down the area in search for the puppy’s owners but unfortunately nobody had seen the puppy before.

The most interesting part of this journey was that during that time I approached many people with cars and asking them to help me drive the puppy to a vet where the RSPCA could take care of it…. No one had time …

Everyone had time for a jog, a morning walk, go fishing  or walk their own dog … no one I asked had time to drive the puppy.

What does this mean? 

Could it be that we are all tied up in our every day routines? Routines that don’t give space to see other’s in needs? That we close our eyes Lost Staffordshire Puppy by Sandy Bröcking / Think Smart and Lose Weightto our surroundings because we are too busy? How often do we look around and consciously take in what we see? Doesn’t helping and caring for others and the world around us gives us much more joy than following our daily routines with “blinkers” on … often on the way to the shopping mall?

Well, I missed my appointment that day but I got a lot of joy from knowing that the puppy is now in good hands and will hopefully be soon united with a loving family.

What has this story got to do with weight loss?

A lot! Firstly, when we open our eyes and consciously see the world around us we don’t have time to think about food. Secondly, helping someoneStaffordshire Puppy by Sandy Bröcking / Think Smart and Lose Weight is another time where we usually don’t eat because we are focused on some one or something else which takes our thoughts away from our own “food” desires. Thirdly, helping others releases ‘happy hormones’ in our brain which makes us want less food but also makes us more likely to eat healthier food options.

Try it out. Open your eyes and start consciously being aware of your surroundings. It may make a difference not just for you but also for others around you.

Boost your Health with a Fabulous Mixed Oak leaf and Beansprout Salad!

Hello everyone!

Try this fantastic, health boosting, low calorie and refreshing salad recipe.

Take for one:

  • 2 handful Oak leaf salad
  • 1 cup Mung beansMixed Oak leaf and Beansprout Salad by Sandy Bröcking / Think Smart and Lose Weight
  • ½ cucumber
  • 6 cherry tomatoes
  • Small handful parsley
  • 2 tabl spoon corn
  • Sunflower and pumpkin seeds (sprinkle a few on top)

For dressing:

  • 1 tabl sp flaxseed oil
  • 2 tabl spoon water
  • Lemon juice
  • Turmeric
  • Pepper

Help Yourself by Helping Others!

Hello everyone,

Today I went on a bus ride. Shortly after me a tiny old lady got on asking the driver in broken English to be taken to some office where she had an appointment.Local Bus by Sandy Bröcking_Think Smart and Lose Weight

The poor little thing clearly had no idea about bus riding nor how to find her way to her destination.

Seeing her struggling onto the bus I offered her my seat and made sure that her sudden tumble to the right did not end with her face on the floor.

Assuming that trying to get to her destination by herself would be a difficult task I asked the driver for help to find the right location and decided to walk her there.

A Story to Success

Hello everyone,

Today I sent a parcel and here is the story:

I waited about 10-15 minutes in the queue for my turn only to find that because my tiny, 230 g parcel was just not the right size and that I was supposed to pay almost 4 times the price for it. Much more money than the content was worth it!

I wasn’t just annoyed about these silly rules, I was angry. I left. Then I stopped. I found myself a table, repacked the parcel and went back in the queue. I promised myself that I won’t leave the post office without sending the parcel at the low rate.

Three times I went back in the queue until finally everything fitted. I had achieved what I wanted and I even received a big bonus out of it – a bright happy smile from the service lady who even helped me secure my re-wrapped parcel for a safe journey.

Of course! It is persistence that counts!

Just like re-wrapping my parcel until it fits we can shape our journey to health and a healthy body weight until it fits.

If you are unhappy with your body and/or your health, be honest with yourself. Say “NO” and do everything possible to make this change.

Most miracles don’t happen overnight. Stay flexible and focus on your goal, check out what works for you best. Stay on track and you will get where you want – often much sooner and easier than you expect.
