Get on your bike and enjoy the wonderful benefits you can get from cycling … lose some kilos, strengthen your muscles, lower your blood pressure, stay healthy, increase your balance, enjoy nature, release “happy hormones” that make you feel good … and eat less!
Don’t’ be ashamed when you have to get off and walk up a hill or two (nothing wrong with that). Even pushing your bike up the hill burns a lot of energy and helps build a lot of muscles. Otherwise, why would we call it a “push-bike”?
Remember though to make sure you are ready before you jump on:
- Always check with your GP that your health suits the exercise you are planning.
- Make sure you have the necessary road knowledge and your bike is road safe.
- Don’t forget your sun protection and water.
- If you’re up for a longer ride, take some maps and emergency equipment.
Enjoy a good ride for our health and to get rid of some kilos!
(Remember: If you are overweight or over 40, haven’t done much exercise for some time, have an injury or medical condition or if you are experiencing any pain, please always check with your GP before starting any new exercise.)
