A lot is talked about how bad fats are for us but this is not necessarily true.
Our bodies need fat to function. Fats protect our organs and our nerve cells. We need fat to absorb essential vitamins. Fatty acids are needed for inflammation, healing and the health of our body cells. They also affect our mood and behavior.
Here we go. Fat is needed by our body and can be really good for us. The key is to make the right choice and to know what the right fats are for our body:
Processed fats for example are well-known to clog up our arteries which can often lead to heart disease or stroke.
Always remember though that we don’t need too much of it and I always say: “Please don’t have a jar of nuts if you would like to lose some weight”. In small amounts though some nuts are actually known to be able to help our bodies lose weight.
