Healthy and Slimming Left Over Salad!

I think you all know by now that I love fresh salads. Why?

  • They are easy to make

  • You don’t need to wash up greasy dishes

…. And fresh salads are:

  •  immensely good for our health
  • A great way to detox your body
  • A great supply of the nutrients our body needs to fight diseases like cancer and many more
  • The perfect food to help you lose weight
  • Don’t need to be expensive!

Here is one great example of a healthy, low cost and slimming

“Left over Salad”

This one is made of:

  • Some red cabbage, washed and cut
  • Some white cabbage, washed and cutHealthy Left Over Salad by Sandy Bröcking - Think Smart & Lose Weight
  • Some celery, washed and cut
  • Some cucumber, washed and cut
  • Some carrot, washed and cut
  • A few cherry tomatoes, washed and cut

Add a bit of Tahini and very little sesame oil. Some ground pepper and maybe a bit of lemon juice.

Serve with brown rice or a wholemeal roll.

Never too old …

Why don’t we occasionally forget about the seriousness of life. Nobody is ever too old to have some great fun and play around. I think that too often our lives end up much more complicated than they should be.

I think some days we just need to throw away the “etiquette”, forget about what others might say or think – and simply have fun and enjoy life.

If you are upset or frustrated about something … instead of having a jar of biscuits, chips or three bars of chocolate … why not grab yourself a horse and go for a “Wild Ride”!

Swap your Hamburger to a healthy and low fat “Gourmet Sandy Burger”

A hamburger bun or Turkish roll is great. Skip the butter. Add lots of fresh mixed salad leaves, add sliced tomato, add sliced beetroot, plus add tasty cooked onion on top.

Have a big, fresh and healthy salad instead of the high calorie and fattening chips.

Add some sauce and pepper if you like.

No excuse! I’m sure there is some exercise  you can do …

How important is exercise?

It’s serious, serious and absolut seriously important! I’d like to say it is seriously most serious important which means seriously it is …!

What does regular exercise do for us and for our body? It:

  • Supports weight loss
  • Helps prevent many diseases including heart disease, stroke, vascular disease, diabetes, cancer …
  • Keeps you mobile and prevents injuries
  • Keeps your bones strong and healthy
  • Keeps your heart strong
  • Lowers high blood pressure
  • Lowers high blood sugar and prevents diabetes
  • Releases hormones like endorphins which decrease your appetite
  • Decreases tensions and anxiety
  • Elevates your mood and releases “feel good hormones”
  • Reduces chronic pain (Please check with your GP or physio if you have chronic pain.)
  • Decreases aging. Stay younger for longer!

Try my Crunchy Carrot and Spinach Wrap!

Anyone interested in a simple, refreshing, healthy and low calorie lunch?

Take:

  • Wholemeal or corm wraps
  • Baby spinachCrunchy Carrot and Spinach Wrap by Sandy Bröcking
  • Carrots
  • Tahini
  • Ground pepper for taste

How to do it? – Simple!

  • Wash carrots and baby spinach
  • Scrape skin off carrots if needed
  • Place wrap on large plate
  • Add some Tahini and ground      pepper
  • Add baby spinach
  • Add 1-2 carrots on top
  • Wrap it all up and Enjoy
